CHARTER FOR NIGHTLIFE WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION

Background
Why a charter for a nightlife without discrimination?

Copenhagen's nightlife is a social space that creates cohesion and togetherness for the benefit of both locals and visitors. There must be room for everyone, and everyone has a responsibility to help ensure that this is the case.
Together with a wide range of nightlife stakeholders (restaurateurs, staff groups, event organizations, youth organizations, minority organizations and experts), an agreement has been reached on a Charter for a nightlife without discrimination through workshops, meetings in expert and follow-up groups and a large number of dialogue meetings.
Who is behind it?
It has been politically determined by the Copenhagen City Council that a revised Charter for a nightlife without discrimination should be prepared as a follow-up to the "Charter for Fair Nightlife", which was prepared in 2017. The City of Copenhagen has thus initiated the work, while BARC Scandinavia has been responsible for the practical work of coordinating and preparing the charter based on inputs from industry and minority groups, etc. Operate A/S is responsible for continuing the work with the Charter from November 2025.
